New pictures show the extensive damage to the Daintree Rainforest and Wet Tropics World Heritage Area resulting from the intense rainfall event following Cyclone Jasper.
Cyclone Jasper made landfall on December 13, 2023 near Wujal Wujal, 30km north of Cape Tribulation in Far North Queensland.
It is estimated that in some locations, 3-4 metres of rain fell in 5 days.
